Forest Lake Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Acampo, California.
The course first opened for play in the 1941. Forrest Lake Golf Course was purchased by Randy and Marge Ring in 1979. Over the years Randy redesigned the course. Randy Ring died in 1992, and his wife passed away in 2005. Family members continued to own and operate the course.
The course is a flat, 18-hole course that features many trees. Narrow fairways and putting greens feature bermuda turf.
This executive course plays to 4,955 yards from the longest tees and par for the course is 66. The course rating is 61.1 and it has a slope rating of 97. The ladies tee boxes are set at 3,700 yards, par 63, course rating is 58.8 and it has a slope rating of 83.
There are no par-5s on this course. The longest hole is the par-4, #5 hole that plays to 375 yards from the blue tees.
The course closed in November 2011. Owner Dave Ring, said he closed up shop at the Acampo golf course because fewer people are playing golf. he said, "To lose money or break even is not a good option. It's too bad it had to be that way. I'll miss the people."
It is likely that the property will be converted to a vineyard.

Great food values. Big quality portions for cheap. About $12 on golfnow w/ cart! That's cheaper than buying half a cart alone anywhere else. Greens need work, potholes everywhere, needs alot of work.

Layout includes a few elevated greens, an uncommon challenge at this price point, but this is a budget course and the conditions reflect it. It is, nonetheless, a fun place to play with friends and get an exceptional burger. The small pro shop has quality items and knowledgable staff; I bought a full set of Mizuno forged irons here several years ago. This is a good place to learn the game and/or play a casual round if you don't take yourself or the golf too seriously.
